white curtains

I had no ideas, it is so difficult to see mistakes in white on white in lace pattern.
Last night I did not weave, I just un-wove.
I got at times really frustrated but reflecting on my activity, I probably learned more from it then just weaving and finishing a project. Now I know some of the problems, even thinking of how to do 6 panels, maybe adding some color in the remaining 4 to be able to see the pattern better.

Carlos Cruz-Diez: Color in Space and Time

http://www.mfah.org/exhibitions/carlos-cruz-diez-color-space/
Very impressive - after an hour I had to leave the exhibition to clear my mind of those intense colors.
After wondering for a while thru the museum, I went back to finish the exhibition. It will take me a long time to digest what I have seen.
I wonder if his imagery will influence my weaving.

SSA Student Show 2011

Here are some pictures from my friends with whom I weave at SSA:
Nancy with her piece - beautiful colored warp.
Next to her hang's John's piece.

Ellen with her overshot piece which has beautiful colors.

Trish's scarf......love the texture.

Robert, our teacher is an well known tapestry weaver.

Janice won - Best of Fibers - this year

detail of Janice's piece

I like my piece not with fiber art but paintings........what do you think?

Jon Eric Riis

SSA is very fortunate to have one of Jon Eric Riis's earlier pieces at the Navarro Campus.
I can't step far enough away to take a picture of the piece as a whole. You just have to come and see it for yourself.
This photo is taken looking up.
Here is Robert Hils, our fearless Weaving Instructor explaining to us (Students at SSA) the technique

This photo was taken from the stairs

detail of the piece, shows the technique

Just love the texture of the piece.
